In a television interview on Friday, Micheal Jackson’s father, Joe Jackson, said that he suspected “foul play” in his son’s death.
In an Interview on ABC’s Good Morning America,
Joe Jackson said that he was dumbfounded when he learned that his son Micheal had collapsed at home and was being rushed to the hospital.
"I just couldn't believe what was happening to Michael. I do believe it was foul play. I do believe that,"
he said.
A little over two weeks ago the 50-year-old pop singer died, when he suffered cardiac arrest in his rented L.A. mansion. Upon investigation, Los Angeles police discovered powerful prescription drugs in his home.
Although toxicology reports have not been released, several media sources have said that the dangerous sedative called
Diprivan, a drug normally used by anesthesiologists in hospitals, was found in the singer’s mansion.
Meanwhile family members are disputing where the
singer’s body will be laid to rest. It is not decided whether Jackson’s body will be buried on the grounds of Neverland or other possible locations.
“I didn't know anything about the drugs,” and, “I didn't even know the name of them. But I do know that whatever he'd taken was to try to make him rest because he had been working so hard, and that drug was supposed to try and make him relax. But anyway he didn't wake up. He never woke up. Michael died in his sleep.” Said Jackson’s father.
Due to the question of Micheal Jackson’s death, L.A. courts have delayed
custody hearings over Jackson’s two children, Prince Michael Jr, 12 and his daughter Paris, 11. It is unclear who will take custody of a third child, Prince Michael II, 7, who was conceived using a surrogate mother and whose identity remains undisclosed.
