New York Congressman Peter King appeared on the Bill O'Reilly Show Wednesday to respond to those who were criticizing him about recent negative remarks about Michael Jackson.
In an exclusive interview with Bill O'Reilly on the O'Reilly Show, Congressman Peter King responded to critics of his recent remarks about Michael Jackson, some of whom accused him of racism.
Bill O'Reilly called King's remarks harsh and asked him if in hindsight he would have delayed the remarks a week. King said "no, it had gone on long enough."
King defended himself as a champion of race issues, citing his co-sponsorship with John McCain of a bill in Congress that would give a presidential pardon to the first Africa-American heavyweight champion Jack Johnson.
O'Reilly, in playing devil's advocate, noted that Jackson was acquitted of child molestation charges, but that King repeatedly makes claims that Jackson was a pedophile and child molester. "If he was not convicted in a court of law," O'Reilly asks, "is it fair to say he was a child molester?"
King responds, "Bill I would say that an adult male who sleeps with young boys is a child molester. If nothing else, he is molesting and abusing their psyche... How are those kids going to grow up normal after spending nights in bed with Michael Jackson?"
As of July 8th, the group "Michael Jackson Fans AGAINST Peter King" on ActBlue.com had raised over $3,600 in less than a week. More than 150 people have donated.
