Popular Filipino boxing icon Manny Pacquiao was brought to a hospital in metro Manila after feeling ill while shooting a movie. The pound-for-pound king was reportedly diagnosed with an ulcer.
Popular Filipino boxer Manny Pacquiao was brought to a hospital after he felt ill while doing a movie, according to an early evening TV news report Tuesday.
Pacquiao said in a TV interview that his doctors checked him out and found that he was suffering from an ulcer. The TV report said that Pacquiao was discharged the same day he came into the hospital for a check-up. No further details have been issued by Team Pacquiao.
Pacquiao is doing a movie while waiting for his next boxing fight. He is also reportedly scheduled to do a movie in Hollywood with Sylvester Stallone of the Rocky movie series. Another movie by the popular Filipino boxer together with Batista and Nicole Sczheringer of the Pussycat Dolls is being shot and is scheduled to be shown in the forthcoming Manila Film Festival scheduled for December this year.
In the meantime, Pacquiao’s promoter, Bob Arum has announced that the Pacquiao-Cotto match scheduled for November 14 is almost a done deal. A draft copy of the contract has already been sent to Pacquiao for confirmation.
In a related development, Shane Mosley has finally given up his chase of Pacquiao for a possible mega fight this year.
Mosley has earlier offered Pacquiao a 60-40 sharing of the fight purse in favor of the pound-for-pound king but Pacquaio’s promoter Bob Arum has been pushing for a Pacquiao-Cotto match and it appears that the match will indeed happen.
Mosley instead gave his promoter Richard Schaefer marching order to arrange a fight with Paul Williams, Joshua Clottey, Kermit Cintron or Any Berto.
