In her first interview since announcing her resignation last Friday, Alaska Governor Sarah Palin responds aggressively to her critics about her surprising decision.
While speaking out against her critics, President Obama, and even the Republican Party; Governor Palin did not confirm or deny her interest in a presidential run. Reporters caught up to the 2008 vice presidential nominee as she was about to depart on a fishing boat with her family.
She expressed anger at the numerous bloggers who have spread rumors of ethics violations and illegal activity. The
critics want to put you on a course of personal bankruptcy, so you can't afford to serve," she said, calling the attacks "bull crap." To pay for her mounting legal costs, Palin announced a legal defense fund that will raise money for that purpose.
Palin criticized President Obama by saying: "Average, hard-working Americans need to be able to get out there, unrestrained, and fight for what is right," she said. "Fight for energy independence and national security, fight for a smaller government instead of this big government overgrowth that Obama is ushering in." Her criticism was not limited to the president, she also said that the Republican Party has been hurt by "obsessive partisanship."
When pressed about her desire to run for president, Governor Palin said she did not know what is in store for her future.
