A gray T-shirt with the image of Michael Jackson in his signature jacket was sold on EBay by a Filipino for $25,000. The shirt was manufactured in 1984 in California by MJJ Productions.
An enterprising Filipino sold a t-shirt, manufactured in 1984 by MJJ productions of California, on eBay for $25,000. The gray shirt carries an image of Michael Jackson in his signature Jacket with the words ‘Beat it’.
Inquirer.net reports:
In an interview, the online seller, a 55-year-old man from Quezon City, said he bought the shirt in 1984 while in the US during the time when Jackson’s fame was peaking.
“My wife wore that shirt once. We kept it for years until now when we looked for it in our closet. I can’t remember how much we bought it. It was a long time ago,” the seller said.
The seller, who wishes not to be named, said the shirt has already been sold to a man from the United Kingdom for $25,000.
The seller said he is looking for another Jackson shirt which may be lying around the house because the UK buyer wanted to buy it at the same price.
The Filipino seller said he is a small-time collector who saw little success in selling small items when he was younger.
