Madonna's nude photographs taken when she was just starting a modelling career will be on exhibit in London a few days before the popular singer-actress stages shows in London and Manchester. She was 20 years old when the nude photographs were taken.
Nude photographs of Madonna when she was about 20 years old will be on display in a London exhibit on Thursday.
The photographs were taken when the popular singer-actress was still unknown in the entertainment world. The black and white photos were taken by Martin Schreiber, a New York-based photography teacher.
She was paid 30 dollars for the photos in 1979 for the intimate pictures which include her nude shots on a chair.
The nude photographs were sold by Schreiber to Playboy Magazine after Madonna became a celebrity.
Channelnewsasia reports:
Basically she was a model. She was hired for this photo session by Martin who was teaching photography to his students. She was no-one then," said exhibition organizer Jamie McCartney, a London gallery owner.
"So these are probably some of the last images ever taken before she was really in control of her own image. It was during this time that she probably learnt how to really use her sexuality to her advantage."
The photo exhibit which was earlier shown in Amsterdam and other European cities will be shown a few days before Madonna stages another show in London and Manchester.
Early this year another nude photo of the popular singer-actress was auction off by Christie’s for about $10, 000. The black and white full frontal photograph was taken by professional photographer, Lee Friedlander. The nude photo appeared in Playboy magazine in 1985.
