This recall is related to a similar one within the United States. In the United States 12 people have been hospitalized in connection to the recall. Two of those patients have kidney failure.
The warning came on June 30, 2009 in the United States.
Only an internal temperature of 106 F is considered high enough for ground beef patties. Color is not enough an indication of whether or not beef patties are safe.
