Alexis "The Explosive Thin Man" Arguello, the former boxing champion who went on to become the mayor of Managua,Nicaragua has been found dead at his home. He was 57.
In 2008 Arguella was elected mayor of Managua, the capital city of Nicaragua.
Just last week
Arguello was in Puerto Rico to take part in opening a new boxing academy.
Wikipedia reports that there were reports of financial misdealings with the public's money. It is being reported that he shot himself in the
heart.
Making his boxing debut at 17 Arguella was an active boxer from the 1960s until the early 1990s.
Arguello was a three-time world champion in boxing before during to politics.
In his 90 professional fights Arguello only lost 8 times. He won 65 of those fights by knock outs.
