TV Pitchman Billy Mays Dead at 50

Billy Mays has been found dead at his Tampa, Florida home. Mays was discovered by his wife who called 911. The Tampa Fire and Rescue department pronounced the TV spokesman dead at 7:45 a.m. Sunday morning.

Mays was a staple on the infomercial scene pitching for OxyClean, Mighty Putty and many other As Seen On TV products. There are no signs of foul play in Mays death. Mays, 50, was on a flight to Tampa Saturday evening. The US Airways flight blew out its front tires as it landed at the airport. At the time US Airways said that none of the 143 people aboard the plane were injured. BNO reports:

"Although Billy lived a public life, we don't anticipate making any public statements over the next couple of days," Billy Mays' wife, Deborah, said. "Our family asks that you respect our privacy during these difficult times."
