The 82nd Academy Awards makes a change in the selection of Best Picture, hoping to gain more public interest in the ceremony.
The Oscar Best Picture nominees will now feature 10 films instead of five, announced the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences in a
press release June 24.
During previous years of the awards ceremony, 10 films were selected.
The last year of 10 nominees was in 1943, when "Casablanca" was named best picture.
The 82nd Academy Awards will take place March 7, 2010. Nominees for the ceremony will be announced February 2.
