North Korea is threatening to 'wipe out' the United States if a new war were to start on the Korean Peninsula. The warnings came on the eve of the 59th anniversary of the onset of the Korean War.
The
U.S. Navy has been tracking a North Korean ship thought to be transporting weapons to Burma. The North Koreans have warned any interception of the ship would be considered a declaration on war. On Wednesday the communist country claimed that the United States is attempting to provoke another Korean War.
CBC reports:
"If the U.S. imperialists start another war, the army and people of Korea will … wipe out the aggressors on the globe once and for all," the official Korean Central News Agency said.
A truce ended the Korean War in 1953. There has never been a peace treaty between the two nations.
The United States has yet to decide the direction in which it will go concerning the monitored ship.

Daily Tribute reports:
"That's a decision that will have to be made at some point, and not necessarily just by us or this government," he said at a news conference. "I think we will likely take (the decision) collectively with our allies and partners," Pentagon press secretary Geoff Morrell said Wednesday.
