The list of recalled food items, from soup to nuts, stood at 3,919 as of June 19.
Peanut Corporation of America (PCA), the company that
knowingly released products that tested positive for Salmonella into the U.S. market, is still in bankrupt proceedings. So far,
$202 million in claims have been filed against PCA in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Lynchburg, Virginia. The deadline for filing a claim against the company is Mon., June 22.
The Salmonella outbreak is believed to have killed nine and sickened at least 714, according to the
Centers for Disease Control & Prevention.
