An enterprising Mexican national attempted to smuggle in 24 pounds of marijuana using a surfboard and a duffel bag. The Border Patrol had to get wet in order to arrest him.

agents nabbed the man, 30, Sunday while he was paddling along Imperial Beach according to authorities.
The Border Patrol spotted the man about 200 miles off the shore of the international border. He was toting a blue duffel bag that he let go of as he continued to paddle north into US waters.
The man was directed to the shore but he refused to exit the water. At that point the agents entered the water and arrested the man who admitted he was was illegally in the US.
The man was turned over to a multi-agency, anti-drug task force for smuggling the marijuana in. The bag had 24.9 pounds of pot. The street value was estimated to be more than $74,000.
