Most of the time when people attempt to smuggle cocaine out of a county they hide the drugs. Not one woman in Chile, she had her cocaine front and center. She attempted to smuggle over 10 kilos of cocaine using the drug as her luggage.
Investigators found between 10 and 15 kilos of cocaine had been used to form the woman's luggage. That much cocaine helped the bags tip the scale at 20 kilos each. It puzzled the police considering she didn't seem to be carrying very much inside the suitcases.
The woman arrived at the Santiago de Chile airport on a stopover from her native Argentina. She told the police she was on holiday to Madrid to visit friends.
A woman has been arrested at the Santiago airport on drug charges after it was revealed her luggage was made of cocaine.
The woman had planned to fly to Spain with her special luggage. The suitcases were made with cocaine, resin and glass fiber.
Detective Leandro Morales said the a chemical process could be used to get the cocaine out of the suitcases.
The suitcases were heavier than the contents.
An Argentine woman, 26, was arrested.
