By KJ Mullins.
Susan Boyle has been taken to a medical clinic after suffering from exhaustion. The Britain's Got Talent star was taken to a North London hospital after workers at the show called police.
Nine MSN reports that the singer was acting oddly in her dressing room.
A spokeswoman told The Sun Boyle was "exhausted and emotionally drained".
"She has been seen by her private GP, who supports her decision to take a few days out for rest and recovery," she said.
"We offer her our ongoing support and wish her a speedy recovery."
There have been reports that Boyle was swearing back stage after coming in second Saturday night. The police were called at about 6 p.m.
The officers reportedly took Boyle to Priory in Southgate in an ambulance. The medical vehicle was escorted by the police.
Teletext reports:
A Scotland Yard spokeswoman said: "Police were called to doctors assessing a woman under the Mental Health Act. The woman was taken voluntarily by ambulance to a clinic. At the request of doctors, police accompanied the ambulance
Sky News reports that David Wilson, professor of criminology at Birmingham City University, claimed that the producers of the show put the needs of the show before Boyle's.
"If we prioritize Susan Boyle's mental health needs then she should not go into the final because if she did, I don't believe the producers know how she will react.
"Whatever happens, the genie is out of the bottle. It's very difficult for her to return to the life she once had and therefore in those circumstances her long-term psychological needs must be accommodated by the program makers.
"They've used Susan Boyle and now they need to make sure she gets the long term help she may need as a consequence of appearing on this program" says Wilson.
BBC reports that on Sunday that Boyle is taking time off on the advice of a doctor.
