It was a busy night for ambulance drivers in Melbourne June 1. Within three hours paramedics delivered three babies who just couldn't wait to get to hospital.
Paramedics were racing the clock to get three separate women from Melbourne's suburbs to hospital without success.
The night started off in Lilydale right after midnight. Halfway through the ride the baby decided it was time to make an appearance. The ambulance pulled over onto the side of the road and the first baby born out of hospital appeared. A daughter for a family that had four sons already.
In Research another baby couldn't wait to make it to hospital. That infant was born at home.
In Upwey a 36-year-old woman rounded out the night delivering her baby at home also.
