A naval reserve commander was confirmed killed by injuries received while performing duties in Iraq Monday. He served as a civilian deputy commander at Vandenberg Air Force Base.
VANDENBERG AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. – A naval reserve commander was confirmed killed in action in the Al Anbar province in Iraq Monday.
According to public affairs officer Raymond Geoffroy, Cmdr. Duane Wolfe was killed by injuries during an improvised explosive device attack.
Wolfe was assigned as officer in charge of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Al Anbar Area Office, according to Geoffroy.
“Each and every member of our team feels this tragedy, but we will pull together and help our own," said Col. David Buck, the 30th Space Wing commander. "Our thoughts and prayers are with his family as they cope with this terrible loss."
