The body of a Polish millionairess has been found, slumped in a plush bathroom suite in one of the most renowned hotels in central Paris.
A UK bankrupt entrepreneur, escaped the scene last night, following the discovery of his wealthy lover, who was found naked and beaten to death in their exclusive suite in the Bristol Hotel, Paris, according to a recent report.
Porsche loving, Ian Griffin, 39, of Cheshire, UK, was thought to be heading towards the French Riviera according to an alert issued by Interpol. Police in France were staking out a yacht on the Mediterranean owned by his lover of 3 years, Surrey-based victim Kinga Legg, 36.
Kinga, the head of a Polish import company supplying tomatoes to many UK supermarkets, and based in the UK, endured massive head injuries. She was bludgeoned to death, possibly with a lamp stand after an all-day drinking session with Griffin.
A detective said: “Nobody heard any screams. The room was chaotic. Furniture had been knocked over or smashed and a curtain pulled down.”
The couple had ordered a lot of champagne from room service.
Police said they were drinking 'heavily' and had gone out on Monday night.
A hotel maid discovered Legg's body in the en-suite bath on Tuesday afternoon - by which time Griffin had checked out and was allegedly on his way to the South of France.
Former telecoms firm boss, Griffin was jailed in Spain following allegations of fraud and has a history of failed businesses. His parents live in Warrington, Cheshire and have been involved in 28 business ventures to date including one called “Girls Out Of Control Limited.” Griffin was also allegedly involved in a string of tanning salon businesses.
French police said the affair had become 'turbulent' recently and she began spending time in France.
The Polish embassy in Paris confirmed that Kinga had recently applied for French citizenship.
She booked into the hotel without Griffin on Saturday. Griffin arrived later, and told hotel staff, Kinga was his ex-girlfriend.
A police spokesman commented:
“The woman’s body was severely beaten and covered in bruises."
“There was no weapon used except furniture.”
Griffin, who had intended to emigrate to Australia and known by the name of ‘Flash’ in his home village of Knutsford, Cheshire” owned a mansion that is now on the market for £3.9 million."
A neighbour said: “He left in a real hurry. There must have been a dozen people knocking on our door asking for him.
"He loved cars. He made a race track and would drive a Bentley round it like an old banger.
"He also drove a Mercedes into a swimming pool. He was a weird character.”
Kinga’s ex-husband and council executive Peter Legg, 40, lives in Lancashire, UK.
The Bristol Hotel, located near to the British Embassy, is a regular haunt for VIPs. The Parisian £1000-a-night hotel has played host to President Nicholas Sarkozy, Tony and Cherie Blair as well as Bruce Willis and Johnny Depp.
