Yahoo's search division would still be sold if the right price was offered Carol Bartz, Yahoo's CEO told those at the D:All things digital conference overnight.
When asked if she would sell the whole of Yahoo to another company, she replied:
They'd have to have big boatloads of money."
Requirements for a sale to succeed would include a good price, a technology which she feels she believes in and access to data which Yahoo needs.
And just when speculation of another Microsoft-Yahoo deal was beginning to die down, she mentioned that talks going on between the two. When asked if she felt it was Yahoo who contributed to last years breakdown of talks, she replied
"I don't know what happened last year and, frankly, I don't care,"
With Microsoft set to launch its new search engine in the coming months, codenamed Kumo, it's unlikely that a deal would be struck anytime soon.
