The owner didn’t want to euthanize a terminally ill dog before a home fire. But he had to euthanize it after the fire because he didn’t want to see it suffer any more.
The nine-year-old bulldog Brittney had several cancerous tumors and was told by the doctors that it would not survive the surgery and had to be euthanized. The owner, Scott Seymore, also believed the chemotherapy would be very difficult for Brittney.
Seymore decided to let his dog live by giving her pain medications instead of euthanizing it.
Then a fire broke out in Seymore’s home in Grand Rapids, Michigan and woke her owner so both could escape just in time. Seymore was very thankful that he was saved by Brittney.
But after the fire, Brittney’s condition worsened. Seymore had to make the difficult decision and euthanized his dog.
Seymore told AP that it was really depressing for him to do this to his dog.
