Natalie Cole has undergone a kidney transplant at a Los Angeles hospital on Tuesday. She received the kidney from a deceased donor through the One Legacy transplant agency.
Cole had been going through dialysis treatment, even while on tour to promote her latest album
Still Unforgettable. she has been having the treatments three times a week for the past nine months.
Cole suffers from Hepatitis C. She has battled the liver disease for 30 years.
Las Vegas Sun reports:
“We are extremely happy for Ms. Cole and wish her all the best,” said Anthony A. Marnell III, Chairman and CEO of the M Resort. “We look forward to having her at the M Resort in the future.”
Her doctors have advised
Cole to postpone her summer tour so that she can recover. Prepaid tickets will be refunded at the point of purchase.
