World's most popular boxer, Manny Pacquiao paid tribute to his loving mother by showering her with lavish gifts and a specially-prepared party to celebrate her 60th birthday which was held at his home province in southern Philippines.
Popular Filipino boxing icon Manny Pacquiao gifted his mother with a lavish party in celebration of her 60th birthday a few days ago in his home province of General Santos City, Philippines.
Inquirer.net reports:
Dressed in her imported lavender gown and expensive dancing shoes, Dionisia Pacquiao could have danced all night as she waltzed, tangoed and cha-chaed at her 60th birthday bash on Friday.
She was the star of the night—exuberant, elegant and full of confidence. Even her son, Manny Pacquiao, stayed on the sidelines, knowing full well this was Dionisia’s moment to shine.
She wowed everyone with her special dance number, which belied her true age as she moved gracefully on the dance floor of the Phela Grande Convention Center. The music switched from swing to waltz, tango to cha-cha and she never missed a step, showing off what she learned from her dance instructors.
Manny’s loving Mom is a very religious person. Every time Manny enters the ring to face his worthy opponents, his mother Dionisia would do nothing but pray for the safety of her son while in the ring and for his victory in every fight.
In almost all of Manny’s boxing fights, his mother refused to watch his son while fighting inside the ring. She would not even watch his son’s fights on television. Instead, she would continue to pray until news of victory is whispered to her while in deep prayer.
The Inquirer.net report added:
When it was Pacquiao’s turn to speak, a hush fell over the crowd and everyone listened attentively.
“This is for you, Mom,” he said in Filipino. “Thank you for giving us life and for raising us. There would be no Manny Pacquiao if not for you. Thank you for all your prayers. I pray for God to grant you a long life.”
Pacquiao ended his speech by performing two songs, “Mapalad Ka” and “Lahing Pilipino.”
Touched by this show of love and affection, Dionisia rose from her seat to hug and kiss her son. It was her turn to thank him for the fame, prestige and blessings he had brought on the Pacquiao family.
Despite of the wealth and prestige that Manny Pacquiao attained from his successful boxing career, he always listens to her mother’s advice to stay religious and God fearing, on and off the ring.
