A North Carolina teenager tried to rob an Internet café with a banana hidden under his T-shirt, but at the end the hapless boy ate the "weapon" before he was arrested by the police.
John Szwalla, a 17-year-old boy from Winston-Salem, North Carolina entered the Internet café with a banana hidden under his T-shirt and demanded money from the shop owner saying he had a gun.
However, the shop owner and other customers ignored the warnings of the teen robber and called for help. But the teenager promptly took out the banana and ate the fruit before police arrived.
Police, who took the pictures of the skin of the “weapon,” joked they might charge the boy with destroying evidence.
Bobby Ray Mabe, the owner of 109 Biz Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, reportedly said: "If he had had a gun he would've shot me. But he had a banana."
Police has charged Szwalla with attempted armed robbery.
