Freddie Roach shares his insights on Cotto's next fight and how fighters like Mosley and Cotto can land a big fight with the Filipino boxing ace.
In a recent interview by
The Broad, Freddie Roach proclaimed the following words: "Miguel Cotto is a big name out there but we are not waiting for him. I think he is going to lost his next fight or has a good chance to. He is in for a very tough fight. "
Roach is really implying that Cotto has to win his fight against Joshua Clottey in order to be considered in the Pacquiao sweeptakes. A Cotto loss to Clottey would diminish the earning potential of the bout.
Even if the Puerto Rican boxing superstar wins his June 13 bout with Joshua, Roach pointed another consideration for Cotto and any fighters like Valero to fulfill in order to face Pacquiao. Freddie told
The Broad the following statements: " He (Cotto) weighs aroung147 pounds and my guy is a 140 pounder. The same with Sugar Shane. If he wants to come down in weight and make it more of a 140 pound division fight. We will also consider him."
