A shooting at Larose-Cut Off Middle School in Larose, Louisiana took place early Monday morning. The gunman is suspected to be a middle school student.
Initial reports are that a student shot himself on the school grounds after opening fire on a teacher. and that no other students have been injured.
AM870 Radio reports:
"We know there have been shots fired. One person on the way to the hospital," Lafrourche Parish Sheriff's Sgt. Lesley Hill Peters told WWL First News. She did not have any other details on the victim.
A driver passing the school called WWL and said, "I see everyone is wearing bullet proof vests... a helicopter is circling overhead."
The student is dead at the scene. Police are on the scene.
