Roach had previously told the boxing media that Hatton will be hammered by Pacquiao within three rounds and then fight Amir Khan at a sold out stadium in the UK. The first of Freddie's prediction had already happened. The second is slowly shaping up.
A few days before Hatton's devastating loss to Pacquiao, Roach told the Telegraph the following prophetic statements: "Hatton is close to the end of his career. If Manny does what I think he will do to Hatton, and if it all goes to plan, we will knock him out and bust him up. If that does happen, I would say Amir is close to a fight with Ricky, which is a huge fight in the U.K, a sell out. It's two fights away [for Amir]."
Roach's talk is not just talk anymore. It is slowly shaping up into reality. British boxing fans had been blogging about a possible Hatton- Khan fight. Just last week, David Haye has been very vocal about Hatton having a farewell fight with Khan in front of thousands of fans.
"The Ricky- Amir fight will be like Oscar De la hoya beating Chavez Sr. It is like a young guy beating up an old guy. " says Roach in a recent interview by T
he Broad,an eblogger.
"I know Ricky is a tough guy. It would be an interesting fight. But I dont think Ricky have the tools at this point of his life to beat Amir."
