In a sparkling act of charity, the Titanic stars came together to help the last survivor of the ill-fated ship that sank in 1912.
Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet came together to help the last survivor of the ship that sank in 1912.
The Titanic stars along with the film's director David Cameroon have donated $30,000 in a fund to help the last survivor, 98-year-old Millvina Dean, who has been struggling to pay her private nursing home fees.
She was the youngest passenger on board the ill-fated ship sunk in 1912, and only nine weeks old when disaster struck. Millvina was rescued from the sinking ship along with her mother and brother, unfortunately her father was one of the 1,517 casualties after the ship hit an iceberg.
A Southhampton resident, Millvina has been forced to sell much of her possessions and memorabilia from the ship at an auction, in dire need of financing for her nursing home.
Items included clothes that were given to her family when they arrived in America, and compensation letters sent to her mother from the Titanic Relief Fund.

It was Ireland-based Sunday Independent newspaper's photographer Don Mullan who brought Millvina's plight to to public notice when he published an appeal to the team of the blockbuster film to help Millvina, reports Sky News.
In a statement, stars Winslet and DiCaprio who played out the classic love story said: " We are honoured to contribute to the Millvina Fund. Our hope is that others will feel inspired by Millvina Dean's remarkable story of survival, and we hope that her future will become more secure through this fund."
Mullan shot a limited edition photograph entitled "Till Surviving" of Millvina's hands signing an autograph, to raise funds for her. The photograph is now part of an exhibition titled " A Thousand Reasons for Living."
