Donald Trump Decrees Carrie Prejean Keeps the Crown

The ongoing saga of who would be officially representing the State of California as Miss California, 2009, was ended today when Donald Trump said these five words "Carrie will remain Miss California."

Trump addressed the naked/semi-naked photos issue by saying: "We have determined that the pictures taken, are fine." Donald Trump called Carrie Prejean, among other things, strong, tough, smart and very beautiful. Finally, he uttered those five words "Carrie will remain Miss California" and voila, she gets to keep her crown. At the end of the press conference held on Tuesday, Donald Trump draped a white Miss California USA sash over Prejean's shoulders and gave her a quick hug and a kiss. Trump also defended Prejean's answer to Perez Hilton's question "Vermont recently became the fourth state to legalize same sex marriage. Do you think every state should follow suit? Why or why not?" and she responded (in part) "... I believe that marriage should be between a man and a woman, no offense to anybody out there ..." by saying:

It's the same answer the president of the United States gave; it's the same answer many people gave. She gave an honorable answer; she gave an answer from her heart.

Representatives from the California pageant say they are not changing the rules for Ms. Prejean, they just want to bring her back into "compliance" with the contracts she signed with them governing her appearances and statements. Pageant officials say that they will help Prejean "fine tune” her response so that it “is accommodating to both parties.”
