By Edwin Ladaga     May 4, 2009 in Entertainment
The Hunt for Gollum, a new short film inspired by the writings of JRR Tolkien will be shown at the London Science Fiction Film Festival.
The production is made by a bunch of Tolkien enthusiasts. The budget has been scraped together by fans of Tolkien.Nobody was paid and no money will be made from it. The unofficial home movie is available online and can be downloaded for free at Daily Motion.
The script was the brainchild of Chris Bouchard, an independent UK filmmaker. The film does not take its premise directly from the pages of Tolkien. It takes the bits and pieces of story dropped by Gandalf & Aragorn in The Lord of the Rings and the timeline given by Tolkien in the Appendices. The story revolves around the Aragorn and his search for the missing Gollum.
The finished film is 40 minutes long and was filmed entirely in North Wales in Great Britain.
