From social networking to social messaging, from Facebook to Twitter these sites seem to be the next generation in communication and public awareness. The White House seems clued in and has launched a new Twitter feed.
In a New York Times report:
"The White House began tweeting around noon Eastern time on Friday. There’s also a new whitehouse profile on MySpace. The usernames match those of the previously launched “whitehouse” accounts on YouTube and Flickr. The Obama administration has since announced its initiative as “WhiteHouse 2.0.”
The increasingly popular micro-blogging site has helped drive Obama's campaign, both as a fund-raising tool and to demonstrate that he is well aware of the new, participatory Internet.
However the feed has only last been updated January 20th, news has it that President Obama’s staff is in the process of migrating his
Twitter username from the campaign’s “BarackObama” to the more Presidential “whitehouse.”
