Miss California Carrie Prejean has decided to work with the National Organization for Marriage in an effort to protect traditional marriages. Prejean made headlines recently when she spoke out against gay marriage during the Miss USA pageant.
Carrie Prejean, the current Miss California, says she lost the Miss USA pageant to Miss North Carolina because of her views on gay marriage (see previous coverage here).
Prejean has maintained her views on marriage since then and she has done a slew of interviews with the media. Today, she wants to take it one step further by announcing she is working with the National Organization for Marriage, in an effort to “protect traditional marriages."
She told NBC Today traditional marriage is “something that is very dear to my heart” and she wants to save it by working in Washington.
She said many have thanked her for standing up for traditional marriage.
She told Matt Lauer of NBC Today that unlike the former beauty pageant contestant Sarah Palin, she has no plans to run for office in the future.
