"That's Life - riding high in April, shot down in May" may be the theme song of Democrats in 2010. The Democratic Party in Congress has replaced American democracy with "fast track" crisis management that includes massive spending and tax hikes.
The partisan tone in Washington and around the country is growing in volume while President Obama seems unconcerned, or perhaps unaware - grinning at fans and foes alike during most photo opps.
Meanwhile, the stock market has lost much of it's value, two major car-makers in the U.S. are barely clinging to corporate life while planning to cut tens of thousands more jobs, and unemployment continues its ugly upward trend in spite of the $783 billion pork-lined spending spree known as a "bail out," and a whopping 3.5 trillion annual budget that no Republicans voted for.
Meanwhile, Pakistan has devolved into open conflict while Obama has escalated the war in Afghanistan and Hillary Clinton has promised the Iraqi government that the U.S. will stay in Iraq as long as they are needed. Our military no longer has a clear mission in either country under Obama - and Janet Napolitano, Mr. Obama's hand-picked Homeland Security chief has submitted official documents declaring American combat veterans are likely potential terrorists.
Democrats are betting that the massive government spending programs that they have created will create temporary jobs and the media will dutifully compare their President to Franklin D. Roosevelt. The enormous deficits, unheard of before in American history, will be played down as insignificant consequences of their enlightened economic strategies.
Other than insuring there will be more abortions and American taxpayer dollars will be made available to fund foreign pro-abortion groups, Obama is clumsily and with great glutton following in George W. Bushes' foot steps. Far from ending the conflict in Iraq, Obama's Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, has promised Iraq the use of our troops indefinitely. Meanwhile, Obama has chosen Afghanistan as "his" war and promptly escalated the troop levels without defining their mission or an exit strategy to the American people.
All of this has gave rise to hope for change that they can believe in at Republican Party headquarters. Republicans realize that due to the misguided ideologically tainted Democratic Party policies forced on America without debate there will be soaring deficits; escalation of war; a sharply declining economy, and bitterly partisan governance prior to 2010 elections There will be little democracy; only bail-outs for bankers, state and local governments and failed auto makers.
All actions to date have done little to improve the lives of ordinary Americans. Republicans will make sure that In 2010 the rhetorical question for voters is: "Are we better off than we were 4 years ago when the Democrats took over Congress?"
When the American proletariat evaluates the Democratic Congress prior to voting in 2010, they will have a chance to return to a Republican form of democratic government. They will need to deal with Obama in 2012, however changing the balance of power in Congress will at least bring democracy back to the U.S. This has brought new hope to Republican Party leadership.
