Users of Facebook have voted in favour of changes to the site. The new changes will make sure people are in charge of any information or content that they add to the site.
The results of the poll say that 75% of the voters will back the plans. The vote came after Facebook made some changes to its terms and conditions earlier this year.
The new changes came under criticism because it looked like the social networking site would then own the rights to images, data and videos which members had put on their profiles.
After realizing that it's members were not happy about the proposed changes, Facebook then took away the new terms and issued another set. The 200 million users of the site where then asked to give their opinions.
The new set of terms and conditions mean that members are in charge of any data they add to the site and they can ask for the data to be deleted if they leave the site.
It's estimated that 600,000 people voted. Facebook had said it would only go ahead with the changes if 30% of it's membership supported them.
There will be an audit of the figures to establish the exact percentage in favour of the new terms.
Ted Ullyot, the legal chief for Facebook said on the sites blog:
"You can expect to see the new documents on the site in the coming
weeks,"
