It’s no secret that since the invention of bodices and bras women have been using them as their personal banks, stuffing them with cash for safe keeping.
A wad of cash stashed by Ivonete Pereira de Oliveira, 58, of Sao Paulo, Brazil, can thank her hidden cache of cash for saving her life.
Oliveira was struck by a stray bullet when an off-duty police officer shot it out with two men, who were attempting to rob a bus she was a passenger on, said Salvador city police spokesman Vicente de Paula.
The cash, 150 reals is the equivalent to $70, slowed the bullet enough preventing it from entering her heart and killing her instantly.
The bullet was successfully removed at a near-by hospital, but the off-duty police office was killed.
