article imageCanadian TV show Corner Gas aired its final episode

Corner Gas, a television sitcom series which airs on CTV Canada, WGN in USA, and SBS in Australia, ran its final episode tonight.
Brent Butt the series creator, based the sitcom on the idea of a gas station in a fictional town "Dog River" in Saskatchewan. The show was very successful with 107 episodes and more than a million viewers behind it.
Corner Gas recieved up to six Gemini awards and was nominated for many other awards during its run. Apparently Brad Wall, the Saskatchewan premier signed a proclamation on the 6th of April which declares April 13, 2009 as Corner Gas day in Saskatchewan due to the remarkable impact the series made in Canadian entertainment.
Many have described it as the most successful Canadian comedy produced in our history.
