In time for the Easter holiday, an ad campaign was aired to bring more people to church for confessions. Called "SoulWow", the ad is a parody of the ShamWow commercials.
New York - In the ad, modelled after the commercials for the absorbent towels called ShamWow, Father Vic implores people to come see any of the "100's of Priests" that are standing-by to have their confessions heard and they will leave with an "almost baptized feeling."
"Nothing soothes the soul like a true confession," tells Father Vic
Both the ad and the website were launched before Palm Sunday by the dioceses of Brooklyn and Rockville Center, the ad was created to draw more people into to church especially during Holy Week. According to Associated Press, church officials have seen an increase in people coming into the churches for confession.
If you live in the area, SoulWow.com says that the offer has been extended and no purchase is necessary!
