It’s not unusual to be vexed by rude people talking on cell phones in restaurants or theatres, or to be texting while we’re talking to them, they’re in a meeting, or in a classroom.
One Wyoming teen learned a lesson of a lifetime when her father became angry after seeing his phone bill, and took his anger out on the phone and not his daughter.
The bill for $4,750 was rung up by Dena Christoffersen, 13, who sent and received approximately 20,000 text messages in one month on a phone that wasn’t covered for texting, because her father thought the texting feature had been disabled.
Her dad, Gregg Christoffersen of Cheyenne, took a hammer to the phone, smashing it to smitherines.
Any teen who has that time to send and receive 20,000 messages, must not have time for much else…like class lessons, but this is one lesson she said she learned, and said she feels really bad about what she did.
Her punishment besides losing the phone: Until the end of the school year she‘s…Grounded!
