The HBO Series True Blood has captivated many fans in its first season, and now the show is about to give us another taste of fresh horror this June.
The moonlight kissed the skin of bare curves that leaned still as a statue on the balcony. Her golden hair swept past her shoulders revealing a swanlike neck. The perfection of the marble skin was broken by dark crimson already drying next to two rapidly healing and perfectly round wounds. He came up behind her and stopped, his breathless lips brushing against her ear as two cold fingers traced the line of her waist and hips.
"Kissindre," he whispered, "You are everything I hoped you would be."
She turned her back to the moon, the jealous reflection of the sun and sauntered into her room all the while pulling on a slip of a robe. She carefully tied the silk and raised her head, her eyes met her cadaverous countenance in the mirror. Much like the moon she was a beautiful but pale reflection of her former self. She knew after tonight her 'life' would never be the same.
Is Kissindre a character from True Blood? No. She is my character, one I have nurtured and played for years. I am a lower-middle-class suburban mom, who secretly loves to Live Action Role Play (LARP) a game called Vampire: The Masquerade by White Wolf. So it was easy for me to become addicted, no completely obsessed with the HBO Series True Blood. The series is based on a series called The Sookie Stackhouse Southern Vampire Mysteries by Charlaine Harris.
The story is set in the small town of Bon Temps, Lousianna. Here the telepathic waitress Sookie Stackhouse is thrust into the world of the Undead after they "came out of the coffin," and announced their presence to the world. Her first vampire customer, Bill Comptom, awakens her to the world of the supernatural and with it all the troubles it brings.
Season One graced the screen just as Twilight and other vampire books and movies became popular. We were enthralled with the characters; Sookie ( telepath), Bill ( vampire), Sam (true shifter), Tara ( normal!), and Jason ( Sookie's brother).
Fans have been waiting with baited breath for the official date of Season 2, and now they keep that breath held till June 14th. However, if fans like the books they can take an early breath. The season premier comes on the heels of the May release of the ninth book in the series, Dead and Gone.
Now you have plenty of warning to reserve the book, purchase a subscription to HBO, and set your DVR!
Beware, if you watch the show you may just want to become a Fang Banger.
Above video is the first 4 minutes of the Series Premier, just a taste of what could be. Warning: Adult Language and Sexually Suggestive Content
