Peter Cottontail, Move Over: Hero Bunny in Town

By M Dee Dubroff     Apr 6, 2009 in Lifestyle
Once upon a time, a sweet little bunny saved the life of its owners by warning them of a potentially lethal gas leak. Hooray for Bunny, and just in time for Easter and eggs and bonnets and spring. Read on, but don’t…hop.
According to news sources, there’s a very special rabbit named Bunny (should be Super Bunny and maybe by now it is) whose home is in Berkshire, England. Bunny saved the lives of her owners by rousing them in time to escape from a potentially lethal gas leak. She escaped from the kitchen and scratched furiously at the bedroom door of Warren Taylor and Kacey Leathers.
Mr. Taylor said:
"The house was full of an overwhelming gas smell because a gas ring had been left on. She alerted us to the danger."
Taylor told the press that Bunny’s achievements were truly incredible because the two-year old rabbit is shut in the kitchen at night to prevent her from gnawing at wires.
Taylor added:
"She must have jumped up and knocked the door handle. She's a hero."
It would seem that Superman, Wonder Woman and others of their ilk come in many diverse shapes and wear an assortment of capes and hats. In this case, the hat needs to be fitted especially for one pair of very brave….ears!
Kudos to Bunny!
