Live from Hollywood! The birth place of the movie industry has always come out behind when it comes to viewing the Golden Globe Awards ceremonies, which have always been time-delayed on the West Coast.
Not so next year, when for the first time, NBC the will air the 67th awards ceremony live nationally on Jan. 17, 2010, from the West Coast at 5 p.m.; 8 p.m. on the East Coast.
No more online cheating or Googling to see whom won what when the Hollywood Foreign Press Association are presented.
It has always been somewhat ironic that in past years, the show honoring the movies and broadcast from the home of the film industry and its stars, went out live to the entire nation, but was tape-delayed by three hours in Hollywood.
It’s hoped that airing the show live to the entire country will boost its ratings. According to the
Associated Press:
After being disrupted in 2008 by the Hollywood writers' strike, this year's ceremony was the lowest-rated ever, with 14.6 million viewers.
