By Jane Fazackarley     Apr 4, 2009 in World
An air strike, suspected to be from the United States is reported to have killed 13 people in North-West Pakistan. This is the second strike in the last four days.
Amongst the dead are said to be women and children. The attack was aimed at militants and some of them were also killed in the attack.
This was a drone attack. These kind of attacks have faced fierce criticism because it is often ordinary people who get caught up in them, The United States army are reported to be the only force based in Afghanistan who would have the ability to carry out such an attack.
A spokesman for the Taliban has said that it was all residents that got caught up in the strike but officials who are in charge of security say that militants were caught up in it too.
The Taliban are now said to be blaming Pakistan for the attack and have stated that Pakistan should be prepared for a retaliatory action.
These drone attacks are reported to be part of a new plan by the United States to stamp out the Taliban and al- Qaeda who are thought to be based in the a region of Pakistan which borders with Afghanistan.
