Man stabs and kills his young sisters just before birthday event

We hear quite frequently how a crazed individual goes on a killing rampage, shooting his family, acquaintances or even total strangers. But when it is your own brother and the weapon is a knife, the story somehow seems different.

In Milton, an area near Boston, Massachusetts a family's apartment home turned into a blood bath yesterday afternoon for three young girls when their 23-year-old brother broke through the door and began stabbing his own sisters with a kitchen knife. Kerby Revelus had recently been released from prison on charges related to a firearm and had a history of domestic violence that involved "punching." Of the three girls, Samantha, 17, Sarafina, 9, and Bianca, 5, two died. The youngest, Bianca, was said to have had her throat slashed and was "decapitated." Sarafina is still in the hospital and is expected to survive her injuries, although her condition has not been officially released. Sarafina is the one who called 911 under the direction of her oldest sister. A report on boston.com described the carnage in further detail, where police:

Police arrived at the scene and were able to stop the 23-year-old from killing Sarafina by shooting him. Revelus died on scene. In a WCVB news report, police describe the scene as "horrific" and stated that Revelus' "intent was clear,"

He was trying his best to kill all of them

Police were unclear as to what prompted the man to brutally attack his own sisters but they did say during a police conference that he may "have been involved in an argument with a neighbor that somehow 'translated into an internal argument with his siblings.'" The parents were not home at the time, with the mom working on Saturday. She was said to have returned from work to a home turned crime scene. The grandmother was in the basement doing laundry. The young teenage girl was said to be excited and happy about the upcoming prom and had just been at a fashion show rehearsal earlier that day. Inside on the table, they found a birthday cake with five candles on top of it: Bianca had just turned 5.
