The President of Afghanistan Hamid Karzai has welcomed the United States new look at the plan for the area which. Barack Obama gave details of this on Friday.
The Afghan President was pleased about that the new plan which will target the militant activity which is currently occurring in Pakistan. He has also welcomed the offer by the United States to talk to Iran.
When Barack Obama announced the new US stance he stated that a vast amount of money would be spent on the infrastructure of the country and that 4000 more soldiers would be sent to to the area to help train the troops working for Afghanistan security forces.
The president of Pakistan has also repeated his embracing of the new United States plan. He made the comments in a parliament speech. The leader also said he wouldn't allow Pakistan to be used by terrorists.
During Friday's speech, Barack Obama said the increasing amount of radicals in Afghanistan and it's borders were a danger to the safety of the United States and the rest of the world. The pictures he portrayed of the problem was pretty dark.
The Afghan president said this:
"It is exactly what the Afghan people were hoping for, and we're seeking,"
"Therefore, it has our full support and backing... and we'll be working very, very closely with the US government to prepare for and to work on implementing all that was laid out in this strategy.
"This is better than we were expecting, as a matter of fact."
