The Mainstream Media's 'Objective Coverage' Of Barack Obama
It was bad enough the press served as campaign arm for Barack Obama's presidential run. Now they act as Big Brother for Obama, sweeping all of the horrendously dirty stuff under the rug. In doing so, they have betrayed every basic tenet of journalism.
A Special Supplement to the Roxana Saberi Hostage Crisis, Day Seventeen and Counting. Somebody has to report this stuff!
Speaking of which.
From the Statement of News Values and Principles by the Associated Press:
In all media, we insist on the highest standards of integrity and ethical behavior when we gather and deliver the news. It means we avoid behavior or activities that create a conflict of interest and compromise our ability to report the news fairly and accurately, uninfluenced by any person or action.
"I have no thought of saying The Associated Press is perfect. The frailties of human nature attach to it," wrote Melville Stone, the great general manager of the AP. But he went on to say that "the thing it is striving for is a truthful, unbiased report of the world's happenings … ethical in the highest degree."
He wrote those words in 1914. They are true today.
Were, you mean, AP. For you and a lot more. In fact, here's one new word that sums you all up today.
So say goodbye to the honorable Fourth Estate as we have known it, and say hello to the Invisible Press. You all know how bad the Mainstream Media was during Rock Star Obama's presidential campaign. Just check the above video for a recap. Chris Matthews having a thrill running up his leg ring any bells?
But don't take my word for it.
Here's ABC's Michael Malone in a Pajamas Media OpEd, declaring himself ashamed to be a journalist:
The traditional media is playing a very, very dangerous game. With its readers, with the Constitution, and with its own fate. The sheer bias in the print and television coverage of this election campaign is not just bewildering, but appalling.
A few days ago, when asked by a new acquaintance what I did for a living, I replied that I was “a writer”, because I couldn’t bring myself to admit to a stranger that I’m a journalist.
You need to understand how painful this is for me. I am one of those people who truly bleeds ink when I’m cut. I am a fourth generation newspaperman. So, when I say I’m deeply ashamed right now to be called a “journalist”, you can imagine just how deep that cuts into my soul.
I feel your pain, Mike. That's why you were awarded my DJ Pulitzer. Not many going out lately, sad to say.
Oh well. All is said and done. We now have the Rock Star for President. In fact, we have the Obamamessiah in the White House now. And I can guaran-damn-tee you, the Vein Stream Media will do all it can, in PRAVDA and Big Brother-like fashion, to see that no dirt gets on the Obamamessiah's halo.
First Point of Parliamentary Procedure. Now-hostage Roxana Saberi, suffering unimaginable psychological terrors in Tehran's notorious Evin Prison. Yet the press, the White House, Congress and even the State Department have made Roxana Saberi a total unperson, in ways that only Big Brother could love.
Here is a REAL journalist's report on Google and Internet searches for Roxana Saberi on March 20th. Double-digit hits for 'Roxana Saberi' in 24-hour periods. They're STILL in double digits today! No mention of Roxana Saberi on the State Department's Main or Iran pages. No mention of Roxana Saberi on Congress' Main Page. No mention of Roxana Saberi on the White House Main Page.
It's like one vast Conspiracy of Silence over Roxana Saberi. I have to wonder. Is it?
Another prime example. On March 13th, eight days after SOS Clinton demanded Roxana Saberi's release, and seven after the Iranians promised to release her soon, Human Rights Watch released a statement calling Ms. Saberi's detention by Iran unlawful under international laws and conventions.
Hell, she hasn't even been charged with a crime! Yet I was the one to break the story here at DJ five days later when no major MSM outlet had broken it at all. They still haven't! You can go page after page after page of a Google search for "Human Rights Watch" plus "Roxana Saberi" and not find ONE major MSM outlet that has broken this significant news event in ten days. In TEN DAYS!
Now I don't know about YOU, people, but isn't Roxana Saberi's detention being called unlawful by a major human rights organization NEWS? Seemingly not. Bad PR for the Obamamessiah. Somebody get a broom and sweep up this mess. Yeah, put it under the rug where no one will see it. My heroes.
Meanwhile, Ms. Saberi's mental state is deteriorating, no doubt greatly helped by her sadistic keepers who, when they aren't busy terrorizing Roxana, being an American woman and no better than a dirty Jewess to them, are inflicting some real torture on inmates at Evin not so fortunate to be foreign nationals. And from whom Roxana is no doubt hearing soul-piercing screams, day after day and night after night.
Speaking of which, a young Iranian blogger who insulted Supreme Asswipe Ali Khamenei (who just led the Death to America rallies in Tehran following Obama's video olive branch, by the way) just died in Evin prison. Officials there are calling it a suicide. Lot of that going around in Evin lately.
And now, we are being told that Roxana Saberi will be suffering in that medieval torture chamber called Evin prison for two more weeks, as the nation of Iran joins Obama, Clinton, State, Congress, and the Vein Stream Media on national holiday. I can guarantee you, it will be no two-week holiday for Roxana Saberi.
I have to give some credit. Some of the VSM are covering Iran's "Death To America" response to President Obama's video olive branch. Probably too big a lump to sweep under the carpet. Has to be some pretense of journalism on Iran. Otherwise, people might think they're trying to cover something up! But perhaps more telling is the fact a Google search of Obama hopeful Iran for the past 24 hours racked up over 33,000 hits, while Obama "Death to America" returned only 1,830 for that same 24-hour period.
You tell me who's hopeless here! Hell, I'm starting to wish Death to America myself! Or at least Death to the Invisible Press! And all that has preceded is only one scant scintilla of how far the so-called "reporters" of today's Invisible Press have their invisible heads buried up their invisible rectums.
Once again, the subject is today's Islamist Iran. And rather than writing a book here, I will direct you to all of the other reporting I have done on Iran. Just know that AMPAS, Hollywood and the Invisible Press have done all they possibly could to cover up the Hitlerite nightmare regime in today's Islamist extremist Iran in order to give 'Hollywood Diplomacy' a shot.
They all knew this Iran horrorshow stuff, because I've been screaming to everyone about it! Just like here!
Yet they still went, to schmooze, teach film seminars to Iran's propaganda stooges, and share tea and finger cookies with all the hostage-takers, women-stoners, gay butchers, child executioners and now blogger-killers in Iran. No pressers from Team Oscar on these abominations. Or Roxana Saberi. Busy.
Probably somewhere in Tehran, getting punked again. And again. And again. Or maybe they're being 'culturally sensitive' by attending a nice colorful genocide parade for Omar Bashir. You have to wonder.
Why didn't they speak up or hightail it out of Dodge then, instead of remaining as silent accomplices?
By the way, they even covered up the 'Gay Genocide' in Iran that is happening as we speak. It's actually called the Gay Holocaust in Iran. Call it what you will, it is a genocide, the targeted and ruthless extermination of a select group of innocent human beings. Can't have that on the cover of Variety now, can we? Bad PR, you see. Actually, here's how bad it really is. A Google search of "Gay Holocaust in Iran" turned up 110 hits, and most of those are mine. The Google search Iran "Team Oscar" returned 8,300.
Tell me, people. How much lower can you go as reporters than to cover up an ongoing genocide for PR reasons? Hell, how much lower can you go than that as a human being, never mind a reporter? Yet we entrust the media to report all the unfiltered Good, Bad and Ugly that is happening in the world, so that we can form opinions and make informed judgments as to what the hell is really going on in the world.
Good question. Just what the hell IS really going on in the world here? My opinion? Our front line journalists, who should be on constant watch for our sake and the sake of all, are willfully blinding themselves to the uncomfortable and un-PC realities of this world, and are leaving us all defenseless as a result. These are the same stripe of stooges that fawned all over Hitler and got fifty million people killed in World War II by lying to us and the rest of the world about the real Hitler, when it all could have been prevented in the first place! I dread what disaster these self-blinded mice will lead us into next.
The greatest tragedy in all this for me? Other than having to throw my screenwriting career away, that is?
I was weaned on great investigative reporting! Peter Maas, Robin Moore, William L. Shirer, Ernie Pyle and Edward R. Murrow. There are even still a few greats gumshoeing it out there, like Nicholas Pileggi.
Most today, however, seem Invisible. People, just look at all the horrific information I have provided you here. On Roxana Saberi, today's Islamist extremist Third Reich, the Gay Holocaust in Iran, even the living nightmare of Evin Prison. Then ask yourself. Why aren't you seeing this NEWS anywhere else?
Good Night and Good Luck. From the look of things, I think we're all going to need it.
By the way, this is all nothing new. Just merely the advanced stages of degeneration and decay. Drudge made his mark with a world-shaking scoop in 1998 because Newsweek buried Michael Isikoff's Monica Lewinsky story. Newsweek even buried another Isikoff piece to protect Obama just last year! Bad PR, you see. Are any of you getting the Big Picture now? You sure as hell won't get it from the Invisible Press!
Lastly, it's about Roxana Saberi. And it will be until she is home safe, and away from her tormenting jailers.
It's been over SEVENTEEN DAYS since the Iranians said they would Roxana go soon!
WHERE THE HELL IS ROXANA SABERI???
SEVENTEEN DAYS SOON ENOUGH FOR YOU?
OR WAITING ANOTHER TWO WEEKS LIKE THEY SAY NOW?
BULLSHIT!
GET ROXANA SABERI THE HELL OUT OF IRAN! RIGHT NOW
If they don't get off their asses today, I'll suit up, go over there and bust her out myself if I have to! Then I'll deal with all those hopeless morons in D.C. and the press when I get back! Should be a quick war, considering how badly the Iranians are punking them all right now.
Here's the White House. Here's the State Department. Here's Congress.
Many kudos to NPR, ABC, the BBC and the CPJ for their 10,000+ signature petition and strong words.
As opposed to the Invisible Press: the New York Times, CNN, FOX, NBC, CBS, and AP.
Please give 'em Hell on the Gay Holocaust in Iran Thing, too. Gays are human beings too, you know. The gays of Iran desperately need ordinary everyday heroes like you and me to voice the horrors they cannot. And I say all that as a straight guy, OK? Let's ALL be their human rights champs! They need us. Badly.
Speaking of which.
You can give Sean Penn, Dustin Lance Black and The Nine Stooges a shout-out over at AMPAS ;-)
Most important of all? And PLEASE, spread this call far and wide? Pretty Please? With sugar on top?
FREE ROXANA SABERI! NOW! LIKE RIGHT NOW!
