article imageIsrael own up to abuse in Gaza

A military college based in Israel has published written details of the damage and death that occurred during the Gaza battle. This information comes from the soldiers themselves.
The Israeli army has spoken about how they conducted themselves during the conflict in Gaza but they will now be looking into the reports. In the reports one witness explains how they saw a woman and child being shot. Another tells of the murder of a Palestinian woman.
The reports were printed by a military academy which is based at Oranim College The accounts were given by former Graduates who had fought in the Gaza area. The Graduates were talking to new sign ups at the College at a conference.
It has been suggested that these accounts of the war cast doubt on claims by Israel that soldiers were careful not to harm residents. The reports also question claims that it was Hamas that were to blame for putting people in danger.
It is estimated that 1,300 Palestinians died in the battle which lasted 22 days.. Among these were 440 children and 110 women.
An infantry squad leader is reported as saying:
"The climate in general... I don't know how to describe it.... the lives of Palestinians, let's say, are much, much less important than the lives of our soldiers,"
A soldier said;
"All the articles had one clear message, We are the people of Israel, we arrived in the country almost by miracle, now we need to fight to uproot the gentiles who interfere with re-conquering the Holy Land."
"Many soldiers' feelings were that this was a war of religion,"
