Final Page Turned As Josef Fritzl Pleads Guilty On All Charges

The final page in the horrendous ordeal known as the Fritzl scandal has been turned as Josef Fritzl has plead guilty to all charges. He was on trial for imprisoning his daughter Elisabeth for 24 years.

In 2008, the topic of incest was one of the biggest hot button subjects. This had all stemmed from a peculiar incident that had taken place in Austria. It was discovered that seventy-three year old Josef Fritzl has imprisoned his daughter Elisabeth for twenty-four years. However, that was only the tip of the iceberg. It was revealed that Josef repeatedly raped Elisabeth. Elisabeth was eighteen at the time of the imprisonment. But this “rabbit’s hole” goes deeper. Elisabeth ended up giving birth to children out of incest. However, this scandal may have never come into light. This came to be when Josef took nineteen year old Kerstin Fritzl to the hospital. She did wake up from her coma. That is when the hospital made the startling discovery. Today, Josef plead guilty to all charges. He is charged with homicide, enslavement, rape, incest, forced imprisonment, and so forth. Josef could face life behind bars, after the sentencing announcement on Thursday. A psychiatrist recommended Josef be detained at a special prison for the insane criminals. The guilty plea comes on the third day of the trial. Two days prior, Josef pleaded guilty to some of the charges. But, he would not plead guilty to all of the charges. On the third day, Josef pleaded guilty. There is still the recovery on part of Elisabeth and the children. Overall, the damage has been done. If it was not by that mere twist of fate, the world may have never known about this shocking and inhumane incident. One question should be asked: Who will Elisabeth and the children fare afterward?
