Oprah Winfrey Dedicates Show to Rihannas of the World

Famous talk show host Oprah Winfrey dedicated her show Thursday to the Rihannas of the World, obviously in reference to the domestic violence controversy between popular entertainers Rihanna and Chris Brown

Oprah’s Thursday show focused on the Rihanna-Chris Brown domestic violence controversy. She said ‘the show is dedicated to the Rihannas of the world and to any young men who could ever think about hurting a woman’. ‘Let me tell you why she got back with him, in my opinion, Winfrey said. If you go back with a man who hits you, it’s because you don’t feel you are worthy of being with the man who won’t. Rihanna is back with boy friend and accused abuser Chris Brown because she doesn’t feel good about herself, Oprah Winfrey told her audience Thursday on a show devoted to domestic violence, Daily News reports. Model and talk show host Tyra Banks, who said she has been emotionally abused in a relationship, recalled Rihanna telling her about growing up around parents who were always fighting, resulting in severe migraines, the report added ‘It was almost living like hell for her, Banks said. The moment her parents separated, her migraines went away’ In a related commentary on domestic violence, actress Robin Givens offered an advice to Rihanna. She said: ‘Get out now’. Obviously Ms. Givens is relating to her past experience with her famous ex-husband, Mike Tyson who she claimed, has subjected her to some forms of domestic violence when they were living together. Ms. Givens, who is now the spokesperson of National Domestic Violence Hotline, said ‘I find my story their story – down the details. He dragged me down the hall by my hair. He pulled me out of bed by my panties. He would like to choke me. He would kick, Givens revealed. She said Tyson made emotional apologies during those past incidents which made it difficult to walk away from him. Chris Brown has been charged with two felonies for allegedly punching, choking and biting Rihanna on the day of the Grammy Awards.
