Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson is all set for the release of his new movie, 'Race to Witch Mountain'. The popular wrestler and actor was a WWE superstar before hitting the silver screen
Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson is racing to the Witch Mountain minus ‘The Rock’ as he was popularly known during his prime years in wrestling.
Dwayne is bringing his loyal fans to another level of entertainment. This time, he is the center of attention from his most loyal fans – the children and young adults. Dwayne is the main attraction of a new sci-fi family adventure film due for release in the next few days.
Dwayne became very popular when he became a professional wrestler and gain mainstream fame as a wrestler in ‘World Wrestling Entertainment’ or WWE where he got his ‘The Rock’ label. The wrestling TV series is a prime time program that is shown worldwide.
Since 2001, Dwayne focused on his acting career, though he made occasional appearances in WWE for promotional purposes.
Dwayne was a nine-time World Heavyweight Champion in professional wrestling and was the undisputed WWE Champion in 2002.
A year before his award as the undisputed champion, he took acting seriously with his first leading role in the ‘Scorpion King’ where he was paid $5.5 million, the highest salary for an actor in a first starring role
He has since appeared in various films such as The Rundown, The Game Plan, Gridiron Gang, Be Cool and his latest, the ‘Race to Witch Mountain’
Dwayne was born in 1972 to a family of wrestlers. His grandfather and father were professional wrestlers. He was also a collegiate football player representing the University of Miami where he obtained his college education, a bachelor’s degree in criminology. He later played for Calgary Stampeders in the Canadian Football League.
While in college he met his future wife Dany Garcia, who later became a member of the University of Miami’s Board of Trustees and the founder of a Miami-based wealth management firm. Dwayne and Danny separated in 2007 but remained the best of friends. They have a daughter, Simone Alexandra who was born August 14, 2001.
