Talk show host Oprah Winfrey has some advice for battered pop-star Rihanna. Winfrey said Chris Brown will hit her again.
On her talk show, Oprah discussed Chris Brown’s case and is worried about the two pop stars. She sent a message to Rihanna, who was beaten by her boyfriend Brown: “He will hit you again”.
Despite getting beaten badly, Rihanna seemed to have reconciled with Chris Brown, which is worrying many observers. They say it is sending a wrong message to other battered women.
Oprah says one in four women have been abused, and they have found the same ratio among teens as well.
She plans to have a special show on battered women very soon, which she said will be dedicated to all the Rihannas of the world. She then pointed towards the cameras and gave this message:
“Love doesn't hurt...If a man hits you once, he will hit you again. He will hit you again."
Her guest on the talk show, former Manhattan sex-crimes prosecutor Linda Fairstein, also gave an advice to Rihanna. She said by reuniting with Chris Brown, Rihanna risks not only another severe beating like the one she suffered but also her life.
Fairstein told Oprah:
Many of the circumstances in her case were like the early warning signs in the O.J. Simpson case.
She said Nicole was hit repeatedly and didn’t press any charges and reunited with O.J. Simpson. Later Nicole was killed brutally.
Oprah wants both Rihanna and Chris Brown to take counseling before they get together again.
