More than 100 women went topless in Paraguay to protest nuclear weapons. The group is protesting to raise awareness about the amount of nuclear weapons available worldwide.
The members of the Humanist Party in Paraguay did this protest to raise awareness against nuclear weapons. The group said there are thousands of nuclear warheads that threaten Earth.
Carola Gonzalez, one of the demonstrators, told AP they decided to protest since the public and the media only pay attention to the “breasts and bottoms.”
The women went topless and painted their bodies with slogans, images of the radioactivity symbols and the Earth.
The protest proceeded without any serious disturbances.
The United States has 5,535 nuclear warheads, Russia 8,800, United Kingdom 200, France 350, China 400, India 140, Pakistan 60, North Korea 10, and Israel (unknown) according to National Resources Defense Council.
Others like Iran and Saudi Arabia are planning to join this nuclear club.
